Pandemic Oversight

Pandemic Oversight

Congress provided DOT with over $100 billion to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic through three separate appropriations: the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act in March 2020, the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations (CRRSA) Act in December 2020, and the American Rescue Plan (ARP) in March 2021. Government-wide information on pandemic oversight can be found at www.PandemicOversight.gov. OIG provides oversight of the Department of Transportation’s pandemic response funds through independent audits of DOT programs and operations and by investigating allegations of fraud, waste, and abuse reported through our Hotline. OIG’s pandemic oversight work to date is linked below.
