Individual Charged With Conspiracy To Issue Driver's Licenses to Applicants Who Did Not Take Road Test

On June 26, 2023, in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the U.S. Attorney filed an information charging Neta Centio with conspiracy to commit honest services mail fraud. According to the charging document, Centio used CashApp to pay a road test examiner at the Brockton Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) service center to misrepresent that certain driver's license applicants had passed their road tests when in fact they did not show up to take the test. As a result of the fraud, the RMV mailed driver's licenses to unqualified applicants. It is alleged that once the fraud was discovered, Centio told the road test examiner to not mention the CashApp payments.
