New Audit Announcements
Audit Initiated of DOT’s Management of Mobile Device Security
In 2020, the Department of Transportation (DOT) reported the use of 22,000 mobile devices. While mobile devices can increase efficiency and productivity, they can also leave sensitive data vulnerable. In addition, with the increased use of telework, Federal agencies such as DOT have increased their adoption and use of mobile technologies, shifting the mobile threat landscape. Given the complexity of the mobile ecosystem, increased use of mobile devices, and increased cybersecurity risks facing these technologies, we are initiating this audit. The objective will be to determine whether DOT has established and implemented effective controls to manage and secure its mobile devices.
