Georgia Individual Sentenced for Using a UAS To Drop Explosive Devices

On November 17, 2022, the Superior Court of Gwinnett County, Georgia, sentenced Hoa Dinh Nguyen to 36 months of incarceration, 17 years of probation, and $1,000 in restitution. On the same day, Nguyen pleaded guilty to four counts of manufacturing, distributing, possessing with intent to distribute, and offering to distribute an explosive device; four counts of criminal attempt to commit a felony; and one count of arson. The investigation determined Nguyen used an Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) to drop a paint bomb and a homemade improvised explosive device.
