Investigations

On January 12, 2023, a grand jury in the Southern District of Florida indicted Patrick Longsworth for pointing a laser at U.S. Coast Guard and Miami Dade Police helicopters. Longsworth was charged via a criminal complaint and arrested on December 21, 2022. The complaint alleged that Longsworth intended to continue pointing a laser at the helicopters and told that intention to law enforcement officers.

Note: Indictments, informations, and criminal complaints are only accusations by the Government. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
