Georgia Individual Indicted for Interfering With a Flight Crew and Impersonating a Federal Officer
On November 1, 2022, a grand jury in the Northern District of Georgia indicted Anthony Rendon for interfering with a flight crew and impersonating a Federal officer. The indictment alleged that, on or about April 29, 2022, Rendon falsely claimed to be inspecting Southwest Airlines Flight 484 as a representative of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Rendon interfered with the duties of the flight crew by inquiring about persons on board the aircraft who were carrying firearms.
DOT-OIG is conducting this investigation with the FBI.
