FHWA Suspended and Proposed To Debar Maine Project Manager
On July 19, 2022, FHWA suspended and proposed to debar James "Jim" Wentworth. In January 2022, Wentworth was convicted of making false statements related to a Maine Department of Transportation (MEDOT) Federal aid project. Wentworth was sentenced to 1 year of probation, a $35,000 fine, and a $100 special assessment. From June through December 2019, while serving as a project manager for a general contractor, Wentworth submitted fraudulent statements resulting in more than $91,000 in overpayments from MEDOT to the general contractor.
