On May 16, 2022, Kevin Shibilski pleaded guilty in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin to willfully failing to pay approximately $197,458 in Federal income tax and taxes related to the Federal Insurance Contributions Act to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) on behalf of Pure Extractions, Inc., and Wisconsin Logistics Solutions, Inc. In April 2022, an information charged Shibilski with the tax violation. Shibilski was indicted in 2020 on environmental and fraud charges related to the illegal storage and disposal of hazardous broken and crushed cathode ray tube glass.

 

DOT-OIG is conducting this investigation with the Environmental Protection Agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), IRS, and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
