Ohio Pilot Pleads Guilty To Flying Without a Valid Airman’s Certificate
On April 18, 2022, Delbert Garfield Stewart pleaded guilty in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio to flying an airplane without a valid airman's certificate. In May 2021, Stewart was indicted for multiple counts of the same charge. In June 2019, Stewart piloted a single‑engine aircraft without authority to do so.
DOT-OIG is conducting this investigation with the assistance from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
