Georgia Individual Pleads Guilty to Theft of Government Property
On January 4, 2022, Curtis Porch pleaded guilty in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia to one count of theft of Government property. Porch allegedly used false statements and fraudulent pretenses when submitting loan/grant applications—related to the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act—on behalf of sham transportation companies in an attempt to steal approximately $133,000 from the Small Business Administration.
DOT-OIG is conducting this investigation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Internal Revenue Service, and Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration.
