Former Chief Financial Officer Sentenced for Securities Fraud and Other Charges

On November 30, 2021, Peter Armbruster, former chief financial officer of Roadrunner Transportation Systems Inc., was sentenced in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin to 24 months of incarceration, 12 months of supervised release, and a $400 special assessment. In July 2021, Armbruster was convicted of securities fraud, misleading Roadrunner’s auditors, and falsifying Roadrunner’s books and records. According to court documents, between 2014 and 2017, Armbruster and co-conspirators schemed to mislead Roadrunner’s shareholders, independent auditors, regulators, and the public about the company’s true financial condition.
