Florida Commercial Pilot Convicted for Falsifying FAA Medical Applications

On October 26, 2021, Charles Hathaway pleaded guilty in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida to making materially false statements to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Hathaway was previously indicted by grand jury on June 8 for the same charges. The indictment alleged that from 2018 to 2020, on six different occasions, Hathaway made a false statement on the FAA Application for Airman Medical and Student Pilot Certificate. Hathaway, a commercial pilot for an air charter company, falsified the applications by not disclosing multiple convictions of felony offenses.
