On September 9, 2021, in the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah, Scott A. Norwood, Jr., pleaded guilty to misdemeanor counts of making false statements to FAA on FAA Form 8500-8 Application for a Medical Certificate. The information alleged that on January 9, 2017, January 25, 2018, and January 22, 2019, the commercial pilot and flight instructor fraudulently indicated that he had not been diagnosed with, did not have, and never had a mental disorder of any sort. However, Norwood had been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder by a board-certified psychiatrist in November 2015.
