Massachusetts Individual Sentenced for Making False Statements on DOT Medical Forms
On July 21, 2021, the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts sentenced John Kamau to time served, 6 months of probation, and a $200 special assessment. On February 1, 2021, Kamau pleaded guilty to making false statements on DOT Medical Examination Report Forms. The indictment alleged that between May 2016 and February 2019, Kamau filled out three separate DOT Medical Forms with different responses to a question that would have precluded Kamau from obtaining a DOT medical certificate.
DOT-OIG conducted this investigation with assistance from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
