FHWA and Former New York Engineering Company Executive Agree to Voluntary Exclusion

On July 23, 2021, FHWA entered into a voluntary exclusion agreement with Syed Haider, former president of Haider Engineering, P.C., which excludes Haider from participating in covered transactions for a period of 2.5 years.
In March 2019, Haider pleaded guilty to corrupting the Government. The Supreme Court of the State of New York sentenced Haider to a 3-year conditional discharge and $375 in court costs. On the same day, Haider Engineering entered into a deferred prosecution agreement with the New York County District Attorney’s Office (DANY) and agreed to forfeit $1 million and accept an integrity monitor. The company also accepted responsibility for Haider’s criminal conduct.
DOT-OIG is conducting this investigation with DANY’s Construction Fraud Task Force.
Note: A suspension or debarment frequently covers a specific period of time. Please consult the System for Award Management to determine whether a company or individual is currently suspended or debarred.
