Utah Individual Sentenced for Loan Fraud Charges Related to the CARES Act
On July 8, 2021, the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah sentenced Lisa Rowberry, an employee of Frisbu Trucking Company, Inc., to 1 year and 1 day imprisonment, 3 years supervised release, $220,500 in restitution shared with a co-defendant, forfeiture of $210,000, and a special assessment of $100 following Rowberry’s guilty plea to loan application fraud. Around April and May 2020, Rowberry and another individual made false statements on a loan application for $210,000 under the Paycheck Protection Program as a provision of the CARES Act. The applicants failed to disclose the other individual’s indictment and entry into a felony drug possession pretrial diversion agreement on the loan application.
