Former FRA Inspector Charged with Making False Statements
On May 4, 2021, a grand jury in the Northern District of Texas indicted Tremelle Sykes, former Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) Hazardous Material Safety Inspector, on eight counts of making false statements. The indictment alleged that, between January and June 2019, Sykes made and used FRA inspection reports falsely representing that Sykes performed hazardous material inspections at railyard companies.
Note: Indictments, informations, and criminal complaints are only accusations by the Government, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
