FAA Employee Sentenced for Disclosure of Confidential Information

On May 6, 2021, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia sentenced Brian Booth to 36 months' probation and a $25 special assessment. On February 10, Booth pleaded guilty to one count of Disclosure of Confidential Information. Booth sent letters to multiple foreign embassies offering information on airmen whose FAA certificates had been revoked, characterizing the airmen as terrorists seeking to cause harm to those countries. Booth sent the letters seeking financial compensation and political asylum.
