FAA Debars Alaska Company and Owner

On February 9, 2021, the Federal Aviation Administration debarred Forest Kirst and his company, Kirst Aviation, from participating in Federal contracting for 3 years. The debarment will end on December 1, 2023. In November 2019, the court convicted Kirst of obstruction of proceedings before Federal agencies during a National Transportation Safety Board investigation into an August 14, 2014, aircraft crash. Kirst had piloted the aircraft involved in the crash, which injured three Canadian tourists onboard; one of them later succumbed to his injuries.

Note: A suspension or debarment frequently covers a specific period of time. Please consult the System for Award Management to determine whether a company or individual is currently suspended or debarred.
