FAA Debars Former Airline President

On October 23, 2020, FAA debarred Michael Morisi, former president of People Express Airlines, Inc. (PEX), from participating in Federal nonprocurement and procurement transactions for 3 years. The debarment is retroactive to February 24, 2020, the date judgment was imposed in Morisi’s Federal criminal case. He had been charged with misappropriating State and Federal funds from the Small Community Air Service Development Program, which is administered by DOT, and later pleaded guilty to wire fraud and filing a false Federal income tax return.
 
DOT-OIG conducted this investigation with the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation Division and Virginia State Police.
