South Florida Mover Convicted and Sentenced for Theft
On February 7, 2019, Jerrod Devon Moore pleaded guilty in the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit Court, Broward County, Florida, to one count of grand theft in the third degree. He was sentenced to 20 months’ probation and $300 in restitution. On August 1, 2018, Moore and two other employees of a household goods moving company, Moving Squad Inc., were charged via criminal complaint with theft of Government property. They allegedly stole coins worth over $300 while moving items owned by the Florida Attorney General’s Office (FAGO) in February 2016. They were caught during an undercover operation conducted by DOT-OIG, FAGO, and the Delray Police Department.
DOT-OIG is conducting this investigation with FAGO and the Broward County Sheriff’s Office.
