Virginia Man Sentenced for Aiming Laser Pointer at Aircraft

On December 21, 2018, Nicholas Pifer was sentenced in U.S. District Court, Alexandria, Virginia, to 3 days’ incarceration, 1 year of supervised release, a $1500 fine, and a $100 assessment. In September 2018, he pleaded guilty to aiming a laser at an aircraft.
In October 2017, Pifer was captured on surveillance video at a gym parking lot in Sterling, Virginia, shining a laser at aircraft landing at Dulles International Airport, and he later admitted to doing so.
