Former Logan County Sheriff’s Deputy Indicted for Embezzlement of Federal

On November 7, 2018, Doyle Allen Baker, a former sheriff’s deputy in Logan County, Oklahoma, was indicted in U.S. District Court, Oklahoma City, for theft of Federal funds. DOT-OIG agents arrested him in Texas on December 3, 2018.

According to the indictment, Baker submitted fake citations and warnings to hide the fact that he either did not work his overtime shifts or left the shifts early. In paperwork and payroll entries for the Logan County Sheriff's Office, he falsely claimed that he worked the entire period associated with the claimed overtime, which was funded by National Highway Traffic Safety Administration alcohol enforcement grants.

DOT-OIG is conducting this investigation with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
