On June 12, 2018, Carroll Brandt Godwin was sentenced in U.S. District Court, Atlanta, Georgia, to 12 months’ probation and a $100 special assessment fee. Godwin pleaded guilty to making false statements on March 6, 2018.

 

The investigation disclosed that on September 1, 2015, Godwin submitted false medical information to FAA’s Aerospace Medical Certification Division in connection with his online application for an airman’s medical certificate. FAA previously denied Godwin’s application for a certificate in February 2015.
