Michigan Para-Transit Contractor Enters Pre-Trial Diversion Program
On December 20, 2017, David Reid, owner of Select Ride, a para-transit contractor for the Ann Arbor Transit Authority (AATA), entered into the Eastern District of Michigan pre-trial diversion program. Reid created false payroll records to suggest that Select Ride was in compliance with the living wage requirement in its contract with AATA. He then submitted them to AATA for the Federal Transit Administration’s (FTA) Triennial Review. Reid acknowledged that he knew the forged documents would be sent to FTA.
Reid must comply with all of the diversion program’s requirements for 12 months and perform 40 hours of community service. He must also notify his pretrial services officer about any change of residence.
