New Audit Announcements
Audit Initiated of the DOT's Enterprise Services Center
The Enterprise Services Center (ESC) is a Federal service provider within the Department of Transportation (DOT) that offers a range of business services to the Department’s Operating Administrations and other Federal organizations. The Office of Management and Budget requires Federal service providers to give client agencies annual independent auditor’s reports that describe internal controls in accordance with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No. 18. We have contracted with KPMG, LLC, an independent public accounting firm, to conduct the review of ESC subject to our oversight. The objectives of the review are to determine whether (1) management’s description of ESC’s systems are fairly presented, (2) ESC’s controls are suitably designed, and (3) ESC’s controls are operating effectively throughout the period of October l, 2017 to June 30, 2018. KPMG will do additional testing and issue a follow-up letter to our office for the period July l, 2018 through September 30, 2018.
