South Carolina Man Pleads Guilty To Making False Statements to DOT-OIG Special Agent

On February 6, 2018, Jeffrey M. Patterson of Townville, South Carolina, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court, Greenville, South Carolina, to making false statements and representations to a DOT-OIG special agent during the course of an official investigation. On February 7, 2018, Patterson’s guilty plea was officially accepted by the court.

On July 11, 2017, Patterson was indicted for making false statements, the misuse of an agency seal, and aggravated identity theft. The charges stem from allegations that he falsified a letter so it seemed to have been issued by FAA and falsely represented that he held various FAA certifications, including an airframe and powerplant mechanic’s certificate and an inspection authorization.
