South Carolina Pilot Charged with Falsification of Documents
On September 20, 2017, FAA-certified pilot Brian Roberts was indicted in U.S. District Court, Aiken, South Carolina, for falsifying information on his FAA Application for an Airman Medical Certificate. The superseding indictment also charged Roberts and various family members with fraud and false statements related to his receipt of U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits.
The indictment alleges that on June 27, 2013, Robert indicated on his FAA Airman Medical Application that he was not receiving medical disability benefits and had not seen a medical professional in the past 3 years when he knew this information to be false.
DOT-OIG is conducting this investigation with the VA-OIG, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and FAA.
