Audit Initiated of FHWA's Oversight of Public-Private Partnerships for Highway Projects
The Office of Inspector General is initiating an audit on the Federal Highway Administration’s (FHWA) oversight of public-private partnerships for highway projects. FHWA is responsible for stewardship and oversight of Federal-aid highway, bridge, and tunnel projects where public-private partnerships are being considered or implemented. Our audit objectives are to assess FHWA’s (1) approval process for public-private partnership highway and bridge projects that include Federal investments and (2) monitoring of public-private partnerships once approved.
