FTA Suspends Former Illinois Mass Transit Employee from Federal Contracting

On April 17, 2017, the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) suspended Ashley Miller from Federal contracting or from serving as a principal employee of an organization that receives Federal contract or grant funds. Miller is a former employee of East Central Illinois Mass Transit District (ECIMTD), based in Paris, Edgar County, Illinois.
 
In February 2017, Miller, was charged and pleaded guilty to mail fraud in U.S. District Court, Urbana, Illinois. She admitted that between October 2010 and April 2012, she fraudulently used an ECIMTD credit card for personal purchases in excess of $41,000. ECIMTD, which received grant funds from FTA, serves the transportation needs of senior citizens, medical patients, and other underserved populations in Edgar County and surrounding areas.
 
DOT-OIG conducted this investigation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
