Former Illinois Transit Worker Pleads Guilty To Defrauding Illinois Transportation Program
On February 27, 2017, Ashley Miller, was charged and pleaded guilty to mail fraud in U.S. District Court, Urbana, Illinois. Miller is a former employee of East Central Illinois Mass Transit District (ECIMTD), based in Paris, Edgar County, Illinois. She admitted that between October 2010 and April 2012, she fraudulently used an ECIMTD credit card for personal purchases in excess of $41,000. ECIMTD—which serves the transportation needs of senior citizens, medical patients, and other underserved populations in Edgar County and surrounding areas—received grants provided through and administered by the Federal Transit Administration.
