New Audit Announcements

In accordance with the Chief Financial Officers Act of 1990, the Office of Inspector General (OIG) is initiating its audit of DOT’s consolidated financial statements for fiscal years 2016 and 2015. KPMG LLP—an independent auditing firm—will perform the audit. Furthermore, the St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation, a DOT component agency, will engage another independent firm to audit its component financial statements. The audit report on DOT’s fiscal years 2016 and 2015 consolidated financial statements is due to OMB by November 15, 2016.

These audits will be conducted subject to OIG oversight and according to generally accepted Government auditing standards and the Office of Management and Budget’s audit requirements. The audit report will be delivered to OMB by November 15, 2016.
