RMD Holdings and Co-Owner Agree to Pay the Government $1,362,000 for DBE Fraud

On December 18, RMD Holdings, Ltd. d/b/a Nationwide Fence (Nationwide), entered into a civil settlement agreement with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Louisville, Kentucky, and agreed to pay $1,334,000 collectively to the United States government for alleged Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) fraud.

On December 30, 2014, Robert DeMil, co-owner of Nationwide, entered into a separate settlement agreement and agreed to pay $28,086.26 for the alleged use of a DBE pass through on federally funded projects.

It was alleged that from October 20, 2006 through July 16, 2010, Nationwide and DeMil misrepresented how it utilized Sallie’s Wholesale Construction, Inc., a DBE on multiple federally funded contracts in Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky, in violation of DBE rules and regulations.
