Security Guard Sentenced in MIA Airport Case

Isabel Veizaga, a security guard for Vanguard Security, Inc., at Miami International Airport (MIA), pleaded guilty and was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Miami, FL, for obtaining a Secure Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge under false pretenses. She is the eighth of 12 illegal aliens charged in Miami who have pleaded guilty to charges of obtaining false SIDA badges. The badges gave the defendants access to secure areas at MIA. Veizaga was sentenced to 40 days in jail and will be processed for deportation hearings. OIG investigated this case with the U.S. Customs Service.
