Four Wisconsin Road Construction Executives Arrested on Bid Rigging and Wire Fraud Charges
Four Wisconsin road construction executives were arrested on bid rigging and wire fraud charges for participating in a conspiracy involving projects let by the State of Wisconsin’s Department of Transportation (WisDOT) and others. The road construction projects, most of which were federally funded, included public road, highway, bridge, street, and airport construction worth more than $100 million. The defendants included the president and vice president of Vinton Construction Company of Manitowoc, WI, and the president and secretary/treasurer of Streu Construction Company of Two Rivers, WI. The charges alleged they colluded through a variety of schemes to rig bids from as early as 1997 until the present. The investigation is being conducted jointly by the Department of Justice Antitrust Division, U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, the FBI, and OIG.
