Interim Report on Travel Policies and Practices of Political Appointees
In response to a congressional request of February 29, 2000, the Office of Inspector General initiated a Departmentwide review of policies and practices regarding political activities and travel by Department of Transportation (DOT) employees. The request posed seven questions pertaining to DOT. You asked for this information by the end of April 2000, and updates every 60 days through the end of this year. In discussions with the Committee staff, we were advised to exclude trips from our report that involved only a mix of official and personal travel.
