Audit Initiated of FAA's Call to Action Plan for Improving Runway Safety
On April 11, 2008, Senator John Rockefeller and Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison of the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee requested that the Office of Inspector General conduct a comprehensive review of the current state of aviation safety, including runway safety issues. Accordingly, we plan to audit FAA’s “Call to Action Plan,” a short–term plan for improving runway safety created in 2007. Our audit objective is to evaluate the effectiveness of actions taken in response to this plan.
