On March 14, 2013, the Inspector General testified before the House Committee on Appropriations, Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies, on the top management challenges facing the Department of Transportation.  The Inspector General focused on three cross-cutting areas: (1) enhancing aviation and surface safety, (2) ensuring effective stewardship of the Department’s resources, and (3) effectively implementing transportation infrastructure programs.
