Summary

  • verifies that foreign civil aviation authorities conducting inspections on FAA’s behalf ensure that aircraft are adequately safeguarded, repairs are completed properly, and identified deficiencies are corrected;
  • monitors changes in air carriers’ maintenance expenses and repair station usage to identify noteworthy trends and effectively target FAA’s surveillance resources; and
  • ensures that maintenance work at FAA-approved repair stations is performed by trained, qualified personnel and complies with approved procedures.
