The objective of the audit is to evaluate FAA’s progress in reducing runway incursions and operational errors, two serious safety risks that are also indicative of the safety of the Nation’s air traffic control system as a whole. We have already issued two audit reports within the last year on FAA’s efforts to reduce runway incursions and operational errors and made recommendations for improvements.
