We initiated an audit of the Federal Air Marshal (FAM) program, as requested by Congressman Peter DeFazio. The objective of this audit is to evaluate TSA’s policies, procedures, and controls for operating an effective and efficient FAM program. We will evaluate the selection and hiring process, training program, and scheduling on flights to ensure the Federal Air Marshals are properly trained and fully qualified to respond to incidents aboard aircraft. We will also evaluate management controls over the FAM program.
