April 22, 2004
Richard R. Christman, a dispatcher for Ontelaunee Transport Services, of Kempton, PA, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Philadelphia, PA, to 22 counts of making false statements. Christman routinely encouraged and directed Ontelaunee drivers to falsify their driver's daily logbook to hide the fact that they were violating FMCSA's hours-of-service regulations. His sentencing date has not yet been set. In addition to Christman, seven Ontelaunee drivers have pleaded guilty to falsifying their logbooks. This case was investigated by OIG, with assistance from FMCSA.
