Update on Security Sweep at Hartsfield-Atlanta International Airport
May 14, 2002
Sandra Francois and Pierre Gesner, two former employees who had access to secure areas at Hartsfield-Atlanta International Airport, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Atlanta, GA, to entering the United States illegally and are being processed for deportation by the INS. Francois was employed by Argenbright Security and Gesner by International Total Services when they were arrested in February in a Federal security sweep at the airport. They are the fourth and fifth defendants who pleaded guilty to charges. The last defendant, Ismael Traore, was arrested in March in Chicago and has a trial date set for May 28. The investigative task force consisted of special agents from OIG, INS, and OIGs from the Social Security Administration and U.S. Department of Labor, with assistance from the Atlanta Hartsfield Security Office, Atlanta Police Department, and FBI.
